Before his long absence from starring roles in show business, Eddie Murphy was one of the hottest actors in the world. He showed off his range with roles in movies as different as the gritty "48 Hrs.," the hilarious "Coming to America," and the unhinged "Nutty Professor" remakes. He also launched franchises like "Beverly Hills Cop" and had major voice acting turns in "Mulan" and "Shrek" — but that doesn’t mean every professional decision Murphy made turned out to be a good one.
