5 Characters the MCU Ruined (And 5 It Fixed)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going strong for over a decade now and it shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, I’m pretty sure that by the time 2025 rolls around, we’ll just have a weekly Marvel film in theaters plus a new Disney+ streaming show airing daily! Okay, it might not be that extreme, but it’s going to be close! With all the content the franchise has delivered to us, it’s only natural that not every character has come out looking great. Although the MCU as a whole is incredibly entertaining and fun, there are some individual characters that the franchise has completely ruined. Sometimes the ruined characters bounce back and are fixed in later films, with the most notable examples being The Mandarin, who after being made a joke in Iron Man 3, suddenly became one of the best MCU villains ever in Shang-Chi, and then Thor, who started the franchise as a tragic, Shakespearan figure with an overabundance of seriousness before everyone realized how funny Chris Hemsworth was and then Taika Waititi’d him.

But other characters started off strong and then became ruined and so far have remained ruined like The Hulk, Whiplash, Quicksilver and Sharon Carter just to name a few. But I feel like I’m being too harsh. There are also plenty of characters the franchise has fixed over time like Hawkeye, Yondu, Captain America and even Sam Wilson. Yeah there’s a lot to talk about today!

So join me as I discuss all the big characters the MCU has fixed and ruined over its long run. Check it out and be sure to hit that big like and subscribe button after. Oh and leave a comment or else Thor will go back to being boring. Better not risk it! Thanks for watching CBR! Let’s get started, right now!
